Beast Talks about the Sega Mega Drive Mini
Good Gaming Day to you all and welcome to this new post about the announcement of the Sega Mega Drive Mini. It was bound to happen with the success of the Nintendo Mini’s and now it is Sega’s turn to shine. However, I do have my problems with these mini systems since there is no room to add on roms without having to do some modifications and of course the limited sales of them. This is not why we are here, because as an old console war soldier being on the side of Sega Genesis I have my own list of games I would like to see.
Let’s get into my small history with the Sega Mega Drive or Genesis in the States. I first received my console on a cliche Christmas day and it was an exciting time leaving the 80’s. It came with Altered Beast and Sonic the Hedgehog. My world in gaming was never the same since and it was a glorious 16-bit time. However, the games are still with us till this day with Sega constantly releasing a classic collection and there is an announcement of a new version coming out for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with 50 plus games.
All we know as of right now that the system is coming out which was announced at Sega Fes 2018. Some people are up in the air about the developers of the mini ATGAMES. They are not a fan favorite with many audio problems when playing some of the emulated games on their past consoles and some frame issues that I have witnessed, but maybe they will listen to the gamers and make some improvements before shelling out the Mega Drive mini? Who knows, we will just have to wait and see when that happens. Now I know there will be some licensing issues, but I do have my own list of games I want to see on the Genesis Mini. I am going to stay away from the obvious choices that will be on there.
Beast Sega Genesis Request:
- Road Rash Series
- Vector Man
- Maximum Carnage
- X-Men series
- Kid Chameleon
- Battletoads and Double Dragon
I am not going to drown you in a long list, but that is just a few on my personal radar. In that nothing else is concrete on a release date or on the games to be released for it, but it is not that hard to determine what they will be releasing on the mini since there are already many different classic collections for Sega out there. So expect a copy and paste, but when you think about it is it really worth getting with so many other options at your disposal? Please leave your thoughts in the comments below and share what games you want to see on the Sega Mega Drive Mini. – Beast Out –
