Beast Ventures into Fallout 76 Beta PS4

I am not surprised that Fallout went the MMO route, but I am a bit shocked it took so long. The Fallout universe always had that feel to be an open world social experience. Being that it is taken place in an Apocalyptic era with many hazards and situations. I am an old school Fallout player, I hardly dived into the console version until 76 dropped with a Beta. Thanks to my homie AmazonAgent for hooking up, this beast gets to see the joys of Fallout 76 before the full release.

“Reclamation Day, 2102. Twenty-five years after the bombs fall, you and your fellow Vault Dwellers—chosen from the nation’s best and brightest – emerge into post-nuclear America. Play solo or join together as you explore, quest, build, and triumph against the wasteland’s greatest threats.”

Fallout 76 Starts with You!

The first step is always the hardest, especially being in a vault for so long living the good life. Now it is time to flee the nest and check out what has changed in America since the bombs dropped. You have to bear with me folks I am coming from a different world known as Skyrim, but Fallout has some similarities to make it comfortable to get into.

I was alone at first, but you can make a team of up to 4 people. This is okay because anymore you are looking at a full squad. In my personal experience, I had a better time with people than solo. It is a personal option, either way, most work better with teams than an alone, while others rather experience everything without interruptions.

In all that you create your character, grab your first perk and venture out where you might encounter your first enemy of mini robots. As well of wildlife, but the funny thing that caught my attention was playing my first musical instrument. It is the little things like that which makes me enjoy a game and that came with some experience too. Fallout 76 from my few days in the beta showed me that each action will have consequences. Some can be a bit annoying especially in my cases getting Radiation from everything.

Caps are your Currency!

I get it that you are playing an MMO Survival game, but I feel that at times it can be a bit much. Not only do you worry about Rads. You will also have to watch out for dehydration and hunger. Almost everything you consume will cause Rads and that will lessen your HP.

Do not forget to check on the condition of consumables which can spoil and that has a disease effect if you consume. Be mindful of all your equipment conditions and be ready to repair when you can. There is an option to rest on beds to restore HP, but be careful as some beds might give you a disease. Yea, damned if you do and damned if you don’t is the lesson (laughs).

When it comes to the combat you have your melee, throwable and of course projectile. I favor the shotgun the most, but shells are a bit scarce in the world.

Either way not going to dive too deep into a Beta since there are two more test days left before the initial release day. I had a great time with my fellow vault dwellers especially running into level 15 angler’s in a swarm. That alone right there makes you wish you had more AP to run away. The enemies are all unique and come with their own hazards.

In the end am I in? I have to say that some people cry about the graphics not being up there. This is also a beta and there will be glitches galore at times. However, I had fun and I might even continue solo. Next dates are:

Real talk Bethesda on election Day two hours only? Come on guys, us working folk deserve some more time. In that, if you played share your thoughts in the comments below. I want to see what you have to say. – Beast Out
