Dex Flex Summer: Comic-Con Style

Hey team; here is some of the thing I’m looking forward to in the fall. This is compiled from articles and stuff out of Comic-Con. So Enjoy!

Pilot episode, 3 and half stars. To begin, this is not your usual Supergirl you know from the comics. With that said let’s dive into this. This is made by the same team who does The Flash. Its pacing felt like the Flash, but that is where it ended. It begins like Superman on Planet Krypton right after baby Kal-El leaves. Kara is 14 and being rocketed away from the dying planet of Krypton. Now I have to explain this part because this is where it gets tricky. Her ship doesn’t make it to Earth; it is stuck in the Phantom Zone. When she finally gets out its 20 years later and she is adopted by the Danvers family… you see where I’m going with this? The story is a copy and paste of Superman, with criminals from the phantom zone to boot. But that is where the similarities end. Her sister Alex (not in the comics) is part of the DEO-Department of Extra-ordinary Operations. They are on the hunt for out of this world activity ever since Superman crash landed, so that sets up our season. Criminals from the Phantom Zone break out and wanting to take over earth, what is her family’s connection to these criminals, Kara coming to terms with her powers, many guest stars from the DC universe. I am pensive about this show because of it similarities with Superman, but the hopes of the likes of the Flash, the Arrow and other DC universe Easter eggs. Keep watching the skies folks.

I am so hyped for the return of the X-Files on Jan. 24 2016. After reading the Entertainment weekly article and catching up with the series finale episode, I think I’m ready. The early photos from the set show that the show is coming together. It looks like we will be going with the shadow government theme and mythological route on this one. Here’s hoping we peak in every few years on our favorite heroes.

Speaking on Heroes- Heroes Reborn is coming this fall, with a 13 episode mini-series. According to articles, the miniseries is going back to its roots of the first season where we discover these people with powers. Which means not all of our heroes will return. These will be set up as mini story that all converge on HRG man as he is trying to find himself after a memory wipe and in search of his family who is in hiding. Sounds good? Might be about four episodes too many but we’ll see.

DC Legends of Tomorrow sound interesting. A group of unlikely heroes put together by Rip Hunter, who has control of time travel coming from the future, to stop a time tripping villain Vandal Savage. We will see some new faces from around the DCU as well as some old faces from TV (Did someone say the original Black Canary?). These unlikely heroes will do some time tripping themselves, with urges of changing the future and past to their advantage. That seems Interesting.

See you all in the fall!! Keep moving forward.
