Explaining Mutant Year One: Road to Eden

We are at this time in our gaming lives where a game like Mutant Year One: Road to Eden being an RTS title. Today we are gifted with a deep explanation of what to expect in this new title from Funcom. So, what else do we need to know of this Xcom like Game?

On December 4th, in just under two months, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden will make its debut on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The game combines XCOM-like tactical combat with real-time exploration, stealth, and story as it puts players on a journey across a post-human Sweden where anthropomorphic animals scramble to survive in the remains of human civilization. Throughout the game, players can seamlessly jump between real-time exploration and tactical combat.”

What is Mutant Year One: Road to Eden?

Who doesn’t love a behind the scenes look into a new video game. This gives us the players an opportunity to hear from the dev team and takes us on a digital tour.

Not only are we given a deep and interesting story. We also have intriguing anamorphic characters with attitude. It gives me this nostalgia of Dead eye duck from Captain Bucky O’Hare or Beyond Good and Evil. This is a gritty look into a different world with a tactical genre. The world will come alive as you venture off in the zones and progress.

Being that the game is connected to the Pen and Paper RPG gives it a sort of Meta as he stated is a nice touch. This leaves room for other sequels which I hope does happen. I am noticing a huge spike in tabletop games moving into the video game genre. It is a smart tactic even if it takes away from the skills of making your own story. I am going to enjoy where the developers are going to take us with their version.

Being that the world is familiar and yet not brings a sort of mystery. This is slated to be 500 years later and I am sure we will discover how things evolved into a Mutant world. All that said be sure to check back in a few months for our full review. Mutant Year One: Road to launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on December 4th, simultaneously with PC.
