E3 2018 Devil May Cry 5 Reveal

What’s up everyone, it’s ShadowJin here and we just got a huge freaking reveal at E3 that’ll have you in awe and be wanting to do stylish combos all over the place. DEVIL MAY CRY 5 HAS FINALLY BEEN ANNOUNCED! That’s right, you read that correctly. Devil May Cry 5 is coming back and they’re not holding anything back with this being a direct sequel to Devil May Cry 4.

“Years have passed since the legions of hell have set foot in this world, but now a new demonic invasion has begun, and humanity’s last hope will rest in the hands of three lone demon hunters, each offering a radically different playstyle. United by fate and a thirst for vengeance, these demon hunters will have to face their demons in the hope to survive.”

With that being said, Nero is back and kicking some demon ass! Not only is Nero back but, so is Hideaki Itsuno who directed Devil May Cry 2 (only the last 5 months) Devil May Cry 3, and Devil May Cry 4/ Special edition which makes me really excited as a Devil May Cry fan. From what we’re shown from the trailer it looks like all hell has broken loose and we see army soldiers shooting at demons and people being killed by them as well. After that we cut to a van driving recklessly hitting demons and on the side of it is sporting a neon sign saying Devil May Cry! Nero then gets out of the van in mid-air in a very stylish Devil May Cry way, shooting all the demons. At this point, I’d say it’s safe to assume he got that sign from none other than Dante.

After that, we see what looks like some gameplay of Nero in action using some new tech he’s picked up. Now that I mention it that tech called Devil Breaker which looks like it replaces his demonic arm called Devil Bringer. Somewhere in there though we see that someone in a cloak has actually ripped his arm off which sounds and looks pretty painful. My guess is Virgil seeing how he’s shown in Devil May Cry 4 Special edition with a cloak on at first. There is a new character with a southern accent who we really don’t get to know too much about but, it seems like she’ll be the one supplying Nero with the new tech he has. Not going to lie I feel like her voicing does not much the character at all.

  • Legendary action series returns – The 16 million unit selling series is back with original
Director Hideaki Itsuno at the helm of development.
  • A battle of good and evil – A demonic invasion begins with the seeds of a “demon
tree” taking root in Red Grave City. This hellish incursion attracts the attention of the
young demon hunter, Nero, an ally of Dante who now finds himself without his
demonic arm, the source of much of his power. The supernatural family drama also
continues as Dante, the Son of Sparda, seeks revenge for his brother’s corruption and
    mother’s murder.
  • High octane stylized action – Featuring three playable characters each with a radically
different stylish combat play style as they take on the city overrun with demons.
  • Groundbreaking graphics – Developed with Capcom’s in-house proprietary RE
engine, the series continues to achieve new heights in fidelity with graphics that
utilize photorealistic character designs and stunning lighting and environmental
  • Take down the demonic invasion – Battle against epic bosses in an adrenaline-fueled
fights across the over-run Red Grave City.
  • Demon hunter – Nero, one of the series main protagonists and a young demon hunter
who has the blood of Sparda, heads to Red Grave City to face the hellish onslaught of
demons, with weapons craftswoman and new partner-in-crime, Nico.

The gameplay which we get a glimpse of looks really good and very traditionally rooted to the series combat. We see Nero fighting a couple demons and some of the use of his trusty Red Queen Sword and Blue Rose revolver. There is a mention of Kyrie as her name is called out. At the end of the trailer, we’re introduced to the well-seasoned demon hunter Dante, riding around on his bike. Where this story takes place in the timeline, we have no idea at all. What I do know is that from the looks of it all, Devil May Cry 5 may be the most ambitious title in the series yet. Hideaki Itsuno gave a brief statement during an Xbox insider interview saying ” I’m confident that what we’ve made will exceed your expectations.”

If that isn’t one hell of a statement, then I don’t know what is. He also says we can expect to see more at Gamescom. I instinctively knew Devil May Cry 5 was coming and was still surprised by it. Hell, I even mention it in the Devil May Cry HD collection that they’re probably gearing us up for a new one. Expect DMC 5 to drop sometime in Spring of 2019. With that being said this is ShadowJin signing out. Enjoy the rest of E3 news coming at you from us over here at Kumazoku and remember gamers… GAME ON!!!
