Still Learning

2016 is turning out to be the year for Pokémon collecting. Nintendo is handing out Mythical and Legendaries so often that it’s almost difficult to keep up. Seems like my idea of trying to Catch ‘Em All was pretty well timed as I’m probably going to save a lot of time by not having to track these legendaries down myself. You could argue that I don’t get the true collecting experience by skipping these hard-to.find creatures, but I have over 700 of the monsters to collect. I don’t mind saving a little time here and there.

The First 6 Hours

OK, I know I can’t write an update every six hours I spend on this task. If I did there would be an insanely large number of posts the coming months (yes, I do not expect this will take any less time than that). However, in this case, the first few hours were so full of impressions and experiences that there is plenty to write about already.

Pokémons’ 20th-anniversary celebration is well underway with a number of free Mythical and Legendary Pokémons being handed out to eager fans. While Nintendo has been marketing their plans to give away 11 Mythical Pokémons during the year for some time, there have also been other Legendary Pokémons available through other channels that have been more surprising.

I can’t believe it has been twenty years since the first time I checked out Pocket Monsters on Elizabeth Street off of Canal in NYC. Such a long time has passed since I first got my hands on a copy of Pokemon and set off on that adventure catching these little creatures. Each possessing such power and fun, even though it was a cute version of animal fighting it was enjoyable. My Snorlax dominated many and as the years grew the game just evolved just like a Pokémon’s evolution. (Tears)

You know what? I can dig paying an interesting amount of money for custom made gear and hitting up Bobsmade.com just blew my mind on their custom apparel. I don’t get caught up by clothes much, but these cute Squirtle sneakers are on point and the detail on the art is amazing.

The whole idea of supply and demand is flawed when you do not have enough of the supply for the demand. However browsing through Play-asia.com was a treat since they have a third party company that made the GameCube adapter for you Smash Bros WiiU players out there. Thanks to Mayflash your wait is now over, but there are those that are skeptical about third party companies. The good news you still have options on play-asia to either get the four ports peripheral or a single use port.

After a couple of weeks of playing Smash Bros. on the 3DS we finally get to hit the big screen version of Super Smash Bros. for the WiiU! Though it’s very similar to its portable counterpart, there are plenty of differences between the two games. You’ll find the same roster of fighters here as on 3DS. Though later on around spring 2015, we get MewTwo as a DLC. Even the Mii Fighters are here as well, you can now have your own personal Mii character joining the battle coming in three base move sets: Brawler, Swordfighter, and Gunner. Each has access to 12 specials. And even more useful with the Mii Fighters, you can transfer them from the console to the 3DS back n forth on the go.

The day has finally come fellow trainers where I, Kuma have come out of retirement to once again pick a starter and set out on an endless journey to try and catch them all. It is a deep responsibility that I dust off my old badges and pack all my gear in hopes to find a new meaning in Alpha Sapphire. What danger awaits me? Will there be enough Sunkist on my journey to quench my thirst? What is this new enemy Team Aqua have planned for the fate of the world? I can get an Omega bracelet now? It has been so long since my last conquest in Diamond and Pearl, but this new remake of an old classic should be the awakening I am looking for. The rise of both Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby is here, but this is the review for Alpha Sapphire.
