Twisted Metal TV Series in the Works

After Sony Productions was announced telling gamers that there will be adaptation of favorite PlayStation titles. The first it seems to be Twisted Metal which makes me happy and worried at the same time.

Could Twisted Metal Work?

My first question is which of the series should the story be based on? Now I am a bit worried as they say there will be humor involved with the adaptation. I don’t humor, but when it comes to twisted metal I would expect dark humor for the series. In that, the game I would love for the TV show to be based on is Twisted Metal Black.

Why do you ask? Well, out of all the titles in the series TM: Black had the darkest of the storylines to boot. You really get a feel for all the characters and why they want that special wish from Calypso. The one character that stood out the most was Bloody Mary who is a sad individual but deranged at the same time. Just because baby girl can’t land a husband she goes on a murder spree after the bride threw the bouquet at her as a mercy toss.

So her wish was for an obedient husband that would love her finally. The twist is that Calypso’s wishes are always a double edge sword. Your wishes come with a price or don’t always work out the way they should.

The Plot is Thick

There might be some minor tweaks to make interesting, but there is some deep material to be had here. All the characters are in an Insane Asylum which Calypso invades to offer the contest to them. It can’t be like the game where they get dumped into an Arena I assume then it would be like death race or blood drive. It would have to be like a hunt that involves other characters in the city or environments.

Either way, you already have your main villain with Needles Kane driving Sweet Tooth around and he will be the comedy horror of the story.

“We want to create an opportunity for fans of our games to have more touch points with our franchises,” Layden told The Hollywood Reporter. “When fans beat a 40-50 hour game and have to wait three-four years for a sequel, we want to give them places they can go and still have more of that experience and see the characters they love evolve in different ways.”

There is not much else to talk about until we initially see production and who will be working and in the future some screens. But, what do you think about the Twisted Metal tv series? If you would like a Sony game to be turned into a series which would you pick? Leave all comments below and let’s discuss. – Beast Out –
